Why Food Will Finally End The Diaspora Wars

Who doesn't love food? It is one of the most delicious sources of nutrients all put on Earth for humanity to enjoy HALUYAH! We are aware of the clean and unclean foods that the great book of Wahyekra 11:1-47 (Lev. 11:1-47) mentions, but are we aware of how food can also preserve cultures across the dispersed of YEHOWAH's chosen people? What if I said that there are similar meals that stem from the so-called 'blacks' of the United States, those of the Islands, and in West Africa? Yes, it is true. Keep reading to find out what really connects us all.

Everyone loves a good dish of greens, maybe a little hot sauce or pepper to give it some 'flava' and dinner is served. Greens are an intricate part of our lives as so-called Black People, and we can normally find them anywhere. No matter where you are, nothing beats a good bowl of greens. Why do we love greens so much, family? Now, let's get a little specific, what we know as greens in the United States can range from Collards, Turnips, Mustard Greens, and even recently Kale. Similarly, in the Isles and places such as Jamaica, they have what is known as Callaloo. This dish compliments any meal and can be eaten for breakfast or dinner. Also, let's also take a look at West Africa, the most common dish for greens is called Kontomire.

All of these dishes are prepared by cleaning, neatly chopping, and boiling the greens until tender. Once boiled, we can add our savory salts and spices, oils, and flavors that will keep us yearning for more. How does this make us similar one may ask? Food and the preparation of it is integral and helps to identify peoples with backgrounds that happen to be the same. Maybe if the "Islander's" tasted a dish of Collard Greens, they'd see the love put into it or if an United States born "Black-American" tried a bowl of Kontomire stew, the Diaspora Wars would end. Don't forget to mention that if a "West African" tried Callaloo, the World would be a better place.

Of course, we all have wishful thinking. However, I implore people within the Diaspora to learn the cultures of others and not break each other down. We all have a responsibility to rise together as the people that have been rejected across the World. We have to finally take a step back and look deeply into what we have been fighting for. So, here's to the evidence of cultures: though far apart are still connected that have strategically taken a simple plant and made it into a nutritious and delicious meal. Take a look at all of these differences that we have, if any at all.

Pictured below is the Kontomire, the Callaloo, and the Collard. Do you see any similarities? This is something for us to chew on....Peace Family.
